According to the Criminal Code of Ukraine, those who produce, store, purchase, transport, or even import counterfeit banknotes of any denomination face imprisonment from 3 to 7 years.

How to deal with counterfeit money
You should not keep counterfeit money in your wallet. It's best to stay clear of this situation. But if you decide to throw away or burn the money, you should think it through. If you notice a banknote, you should probably report your findings to the law enforcement authorities.
Additionally, you can submit the counterfeit for verification at the National Bank, which is a free service. If the counterfeit is confirmed, all monetary values will be confiscated and handed over to the police for consideration.
Euros in Ukraine are precious — and this continues to maintain the relevance of the existence of counterfeit money. Therefore, it is so important to be careful and not to rack your brains when encountering a suspicious banknote.
