Auchan, Metro and Varus showed how prices for buckwheat, sugar, and oil have changed.

According to the Minfin portal, in mid-January it turned out that staple food products for Ukrainians practically did not become more expensive. Prices for buckwheat, sugar, and sunflower oil remained approximately at the same level as in December 2024. For example, the average price for buckwheat groats remained unchanged at 33.02 UAH per kilogram. However, the variation in prices at different stores is still significant.
The prices for crystalline sugar also did not change compared to December 2024 and remained stable. The average cost of sugar is 34.57 UAH per kilogram. Most stores offer sugar for about 32.90 UAH, but in MegaMarket it costs a bit more - 39.60 UAH.
As for sunflower oil, there is a slight increase in prices. 'Oleina' refined oil currently costs an average of 67.62 UAH for 850 ml, which is 2 UAH higher than in December. The oil 'Shchedry Dar' is sold for 73.23 UAH for the same volume, and there is also a variation in prices at different markets.
All changes in the cost of staple products are minor, and overall prices remain stable. For many Ukrainians, these products are the basis of nutrition, so changes in their cost do not go unnoticed by consumers.
