Britain warned how Russia's strikes on Black Sea ports will affect food security.

President of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer stated that Russian attacks on Ukrainian Black Sea ports lead to the halt of vital aid for Palestinians and grain supplies to the global south. He emphasized that Putin is putting global food security at risk by trying to force Ukraine to submit.
Starmer refers to data from British military intelligence, according to which the Russian government attacked at least four merchant vessels in the Black Sea. These attacks harm millions of vulnerable people in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, according to the Prime Minister.
According to the UN, since the beginning of September, Russian attacks on Ukraine's Black Sea ports have led to damage to six civilian vessels and grain infrastructure. The organization calls the increase in strikes "alarming."
Among the consequences of the attacks are the delay of ships with vegetable oil for the World Food Programme in Palestine, as well as ships with grain heading to Egypt, and World Food Programme cargoes for southern Africa.
It was emphasized that on October 14, the occupiers again attacked the port infrastructure of Odessa, leading to damage to civilian vessels and a grain warehouse. There were casualties and injuries.
