Assistance in connection with pregnancy and childbirth - rules in 2025.

The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has provided explanations on the rules for providing assistance for pregnancy and childbirth for pregnant women who are not insured in the system of mandatory state social insurance, including minors. In addition, they clarified how to arrange the relevant payments in 2025.

The Pension Fund explained that for non-state insured pregnant women, the amount of assistance is determined by government resolution No. 1751 dated November 27, 2001. It constitutes 100% of the woman's average monthly earnings but cannot be less than 25% of the living wage. Income used to calculate assistance includes scholarships, monetary allowances, and unemployment benefits.

• Payments are assigned upon application submitted no later than six months after the end of maternity leave.
• The duration of leave can be 70 calendar days before delivery, 56 calendar days after delivery, or 70 calendar days in case of complicated childbirth or the birth of two or more children.
• For those affected by the Chernobyl disaster, assistance is paid for 180 calendar days of leave.

How to receive monetary assistance

Monetary assistance can be received through the PFU service center, the PFU e-services portal, the Diia portal, the Pension Fund application, local authorities, or by postal communication. To do this, you need to provide a number of documents, including an application for assistance, a passport, medical conclusions, and other documents.

It was previously mentioned that this year some families may receive maternity assistance by Knowledge Day, and the government plans to provide assistance in the amount of 50 thousand UAH for each newborn, including for women without experience.
