Epiphanius explained why God allowed the war in Ukraine.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine on the origin of the war
Metropolitan Epiphanius of Kyiv and All Ukraine spoke about how the war between two Orthodox nations began. He emphasized that the responsibility lies with people, not gods. The head of the OCU discussed this in an interview with Apostrophe TV.
According to Epiphanius, people have free will and the freedom of choice. They choose between good and evil, but too often choose evil. These choices and human will determine subsequent events.
The Metropolitan also noted that the Ukrainian people did not want war. They chose freedom, truth, and became part of the European community. On the other hand, the Russians chose a leader who directed his evil against Ukraine.
Epiphanius explained that the reason for these negative consequences is humanity's forgetfulness of God and the feeling of being a creator and lord on earth.
Earlier, the head of the OCU recorded a video address on the occasion of Easter, and President Zelensky called Russia one of the greatest threats to believers.
Easter is one of the greatest holidays for millions of Ukrainians, but many people will not be able to celebrate it in destroyed or damaged churches.
