The Ministry of Defense will implement a new support system for military families.


Military brigades will undergo training for the support service specialists
10 combat brigades of servicemen will undergo training for support service specialists who will provide assistance with medical, psychological, legal and social issues for military personnel and their families.
The first groups will begin training next week
'The integrated support and assistance system we are creating is primarily about fairness and humanity. Our defenders, who risk their lives, need to know that their needs are important, and their families will not be left alone with the challenges,' said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Brigadier General of Justice Serhiy Melnyk, during an online meeting with brigade commanders whose representatives will participate in the pilot project.
The training program includes:
- legal assistance, basics of psychological support;
- medical support;
- social support during rehabilitation after injuries;
- working with families of the deceased, missing and captured servicemen.
Training sessions for experience exchange with already existing (volunteer) structures are also provided.
The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has developed a draft order 'On approval of the Regulation on the support service for servicemen and their family members in the system of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine', according to which each specialist of the support service will undergo specialized training. They should also have experience in providing legal and psychological assistance.
