Rescuers extinguished a fire in a residential building

In Volyn, firefighters extinguished a fire in a residential building that occurred due to a lightning strike. This was reported by the press service of the Main Department of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Volyn region.

Rescuers received a report about a fire in a residential building in the village of Stawok of Olytska community in Lutsk district. At the Time of the fire, a mother with three young children was in the house. The woman quickly oriented herself—she led the children to a safe place and called the emergency number 101.

The fire department's shift from the 6th State Fire and Rescue Unit from Kivertsi, as well as firefighters from local fire teams in Olyka and Tsuman, arrived at the fire site. Rescuers from the village of Klevań in Rivne region also joined the firefighting efforts. Thanks to the prompt and coordinated actions of all units, the fire was localized, and by 10:00, it was completely extinguished, preventing the complete destruction of the building.

There are no casualties. The preliminary cause of the fire was determined to be a lightning strike.

It is worth noting that recently during a thunderstorm, lightning struck one of the upper floors of a residential building in Obolon, Kyiv. Fortunately, there were no serious consequences. In addition, following the Russian strike on Vinnytsia region on the night of July 16, civilian industrial objects came under enemy fire, and residential buildings were also damaged.

The incident in Volyn once again confirmed how important it is not just to save buildings from destruction but also to adhere to safety rules during storm conditions. The woman's timely reaction and the promptness of the rescuers helped to avoid tragedy and prevent serious consequences.
