Ukrainians allowed a new electrical standard

From July 1, a new standard for electrical voltage in outlets will begin to take effect in Ukraine - 230 volts instead of the usual 220 volts. This was reported by RBK-Ukraine.

According to experts, the transition from 220 to 230 volts should not create serious difficulties for the equipment of energy companies. Transformers at substations will be able to adjust the output voltage to comply with the new standards.

'Problems may arise with very outdated equipment, but devices designed for 220 volts usually have a sufficient safety margin and the ability to regulate to operate at 230 volts', - the company explained.

Modern household appliances can operate within a wide voltage range, so the switch to the new standard should not affect their functioning. Most devices will work without issues. However, the company 'DTEK Networks' advises owners of devices with voltage relays to readjust them to the new range between 207 and 253 volts.

This information is important for users who use old equipment. Even in this case, the equipment can adapt to the new safety conditions with a voltage of 230 volts.
