Kyiv Patrol Police has issued an important reminder to pedestrians.

The Kyiv Patrol Police reminds about the rules for safe crossing
The Kyiv Patrol Police has appealed to residents and guests of the city with an important reminder about the rules for safely crossing the roadway. Despite the fact that pedestrians have priority at pedestrian crossings, they must always ensure their safety before crossing the road.
Pedestrians must make sure that crossing the road will be safe for their lives and health before stepping onto the roadway or pedestrian crossing, the law enforcement officers emphasize, referring to the Traffic Rules.
It is important to remember that pedestrians should cross the road only at pedestrian crossings, including underground and overhead ones, and in the absence of the latter – at intersections along the lines of sidewalks or shoulders. Also, in areas with regulated traffic, one should follow the signals of traffic lights or a traffic controller.
The patrol stresses attention to situations with limited visibility, where pedestrians should ensure that there are no approaching vehicles before stepping onto the road, particularly due to parked vehicles or other obstacles.
Violations of these rules are subject to administrative liability. According to part 1 of Article 127 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses, a fine of 255 hryvnias may be imposed for various violations of traffic rules.
Earlier, we talked about how pedestrians can become more visible to drivers in the dark. We also strongly remind drivers that alcohol in a parked vehicle may result in an increased fine.
