On the night of May 7 to 8, Russia announced a ceasefire against Ukraine for three days. This information was disseminated by Russian media, although there was no official confirmation from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to Russian officials, the ceasefire began at 00:00 and will last until midnight on May 11. However, air activity from the Russian side was last recorded on May 7 at 23:01, when shelling occurred in the Sumy region and a nighttime assault took place in Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region.
