The Defense Forces struck an oil refinery in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation.

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an attack occurred on an oil refinery in the Saratov region of Russia. This facility was targeted to reduce the enemy's capabilities. The mentioned enterprise is the oil refinery 'Saratovorgsintez'.

«As part of the efforts to reduce the offensive capabilities of the enemy, today (i.e., July 1), the units of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, inflicted damage on the territory of the oil refinery of the Joint Stock Company «Saratovorgsintez» in the Saratov region of the Russian Federation,» it is stated in the message from the General Staff.

The attack on this refinery is significant, as its capacities are used to supply fuel and lubricants to Russian military forces participating in the war against Ukraine.

The result of the attack was damage to the territory and technological installations of the refinery, which led to a fire. The operational capacity of the enterprise is currently being assessed.

Strike on the Military-Industrial Complex in Russia

On July 1, the defense forces of Ukraine launched an attack on the military-industrial complex in Russia, namely on the Izhvesk Electromechanical Plant 'Kupol', located in the Udmurt Republic. This plant manufactures anti-aircraft missile systems for the Russian army.

This strike was aimed at limiting the potential of Russia's air defense. The 'Kupol' enterprise was chosen as a target as part of the strategy to reduce Russia's military-economic potential.

Explosions and drone attacks were also recorded in Donetsk and Luhansk, as well as an activation of combat aircraft production in Russia. Meanwhile, the Russian economy is in a state of stagnation, negatively affecting the federal budget's revenues.
