On Wednesday, July 16, the 'Servant of the People' faction held a meeting with the participation of President Volodymyr Zelensky. The main topic of discussion was defense issues and strengthening Ukraine's resilience, as well as personnel changes. This was reported by faction leader Davyd Arakhamia on Telegram.

What was discussed at the meeting

In addition to the President, the head of the President's Office Andriy Yermak, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, and First Deputy Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko were present.

'A very important conversation about defense, strengthening our resilience. The President thanked the deputies for their work and for supporting the necessary bills for defense and Eurointegration',
- it was noted in the message.

Arakhamia noted that Ukraine is at a new stage that requires internal strengthening and interaction with partners, which was the reason for personnel changes in the team.

Cabinet Resignation

The Verkhovna Rada supported the resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers. President Volodymyr Zelensky proposed Yulia Svyrydenko to head the new government, to which the 'Servant of the People' faction expressed support and called her an expert in the field.

Also, at the meeting, candidates for key positions in the government were presented, among which were both new faces and experienced specialists who had previously proven themselves in the government.

  • Mykhailo Fedorov - First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Digital Transformation;
  • Oleksii Kuleba - Deputy Prime Minister - Minister for Infrastructure and Territories Development;
  • Taras Kachka - Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration;
  • and others.

According to Arakhamia, discussions regarding the candidacy for the Minister of Culture position are ongoing, and the Verkhovna Rada plans to consider the presented candidates at the next meeting.

It should be noted that today the Ukrainian parliament dismissed Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and his government, after which Volodymyr Zelensky presented new heads of the Ministry of Defense and Ukroboronprom.

During the 'Servant of the People' faction meeting with the President of Ukraine, issues of defense and strengthening the country's resilience were discussed, as well as personnel changes related to the formation of a new government. The resignation of the Cabinet of Ministers was supported, and new candidates for key positions in the government were agreed upon and prepared for consideration in the Verkhovna Rada.
