U.S. President Donald Trump is 'determined' to conclude an agreement on minerals with Ukraine, U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz reported on Fox News.
'The agreement with Ukraine will be finalized. The negotiators have been working diligently over the weekend. This is the first thing on the minds of both Scott Bessent (U.S. Secretary of the Treasury - ed.) and the president. It will be done. The president is firmly committed to making this happen,' Waltz emphasized.
Earlier, we reported that Ukraine and the United States still need to agree on key issues before signing an important cooperation agreement in the field of minerals. This was stated by the Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko.
On the eve, he, along with other Ukrainian officials, including Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, held a meeting with U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent in Washington. The negotiations took place during the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.
We remind you that Ukraine and the U.S. signed a memorandum online, which confirms the intention to finalize and conclude an agreement on minerals. This was reported by the Minister of Economy, Yulia Svyrydenko, according to 'Glavkom'.
'Ukraine and the United States of America signed a Memorandum that confirms the constructive joint work of our teams and the intention to finalize and conclude an agreement that will be beneficial to both our nations,' Svyrydenko wrote.
Moreover, Ukraine and the United States of America agreed to begin work on creating a free trade area. This was reported on his Telegram channel by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, according to 'Glavkom'.
