The Vatican has published the spiritual will of Pope Francis, in which he states that he wants to be buried in the Papal Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome. The Pope asks that his remains rest in the beloved basilica where he prayed before or after each trip. He desires a simple tomb with only the inscription 'Franciscus'. The funding for the burial preparations will be provided from a donation that the Pope himself gave to the basilica. The will was compiled at the Domus Sanctae Marthae, where Pope Francis has lived since the beginning of his pontificate.

The Pope passed away on April 21, and his life was dedicated to serving God and His Church. He was a teacher for us, teaching us to live according to the values of the Gospel with faith, courage, and universal love.
