Every day at 9 in the morning, Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives were taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today, we remember Pylyp Stakhov.
Musician and public figure Pylyp Stakhov, with the call sign Phil, who was well known in his hometown of Chernivtsi, died at the front. This was reported by the Chernivtsi Regional Council and fellow musicians from the Chernivtsi band RUTAband.
Pylyp Stakhov stood up to defend Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale war. He fought as part of the Bukovinian unit "Albin," which is part of the 12th special purpose brigade "Azov."
Defending Ukraine from Russian occupiers, Chernivtsi public figure Pylyp Stakhov died. Eternal memory and glory to the defender... Sincere condolences to the family...
What is known about Pylyp Stakhov
Pylyp Stakhov studied at the Faculty of Philosophy and Theology at Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovych. He played in the Chernivtsi band called RUTA. Before the full-scale invasion, Stakhov was an active public figure. He was also passionate about mountains, laying out one-day routes in the Carpathians.
Stakhov was the author of a project to set up a military-ground in Fedkovych Park in Chernivtsi. He often called for spending money not on the city but on the necessary equipment for the army.
Even before the full-scale Russian invasion, Pylyp Stakhov, as part of the Bukovyna Defense Headquarters, was preparing to defend our country. From the first days of the full-scale war, Pylyp Stakhov went to the front, he participated in the liberation of Kyiv region, fought near Izium, and also in the hottest spots of Donbas.
During the Kharkiv counteroffensive, Phil, along with his comrades, liberated the village of Velyka Komyshuvalikha from the occupiers.
Stakhov also helped displaced persons and collected aid for the military.
The man is survived by a small son and wife.

We remember those who died at the hands of Russian invaders, light candles of memory, and bow our heads in sorrow during the national minute of silence, honoring the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all soldiers, civilians, and children, all who died fighting against the Russian occupiers and as a result of the enemy's attack on Ukrainian cities and villages.
