Five times higher chance of survival on the road: police revealed a simple safety secret.

Kyiv law enforcement urged residents of the capital to wear reflective elements for safety on the roads. The use of such elements significantly improves the visibility of pedestrians in low-light conditions and poor weather.
'Thanks to this accessory, the visibility of a pedestrian on the road increases to 130-150 meters, while without reflective elements the driver can only see the pedestrian from a distance of 25-30 meters,' law enforcement officials reported.
This is especially relevant on state highways, where, using high beam headlights, a driver can see a pedestrian from a distance of 300 to 400 meters.
The police emphasized that reflective elements effectively reflect light in the dark, allowing drivers to notice pedestrians in Time and react - to reduce speed or stop the vehicle.
Patrol officers also recommend using reflective vests, choosing clothes, backpacks, or bags with reflective elements, and teaching children this useful habit.
We also remind drivers about the updated speed limits and video recording on the roads.
The use of reflective elements is an important step in ensuring pedestrian safety on the roads, especially in conditions of limited visibility. These accessories allow drivers to notice pedestrians in time and reduce the likelihood of accidents. Therefore, by following the police's advice and wearing reflective elements, we can reduce the risk of road incidents and save lives.
