Pokrovsk: evacuation of residents due to the threat of war
Last week, over 3,000 residents were evacuated from Pokrovsk, including children. 7,500 people remain in the city.
'Currently, 7,500 people are left in Pokrovsk, more than 3,000 people left in a week. We evacuated all the children - last week there were 16 children, now there are no children in the city of Pokrovsk,' said the head of the Donetsk OVA Vadim Filashkin.
According to Filashkin, the enemy is located 3 kilometers from the city. Some shops and ATMs are currently operating in Pokrovsk.
Currently, there are 11,000 residents in the Pokrovsk community, among them 27 children. This is significantly less than in November when 17,000 people lived here, including 246 children.
Critical situation in Chasiv Yar
The city of Chasiv Yar has faced a critical situation - all buildings have been completely destroyed.
'The city of Chasiv Yar hardly exists anymore. 249 people remain in the basements. There are no intact houses. The situation is so complicated that it is practically impossible to reach people. If it is possible to enter the city twice a week to provide people with drinking water and humanitarian aid, that is already very good. People do not leave the city, even though it is almost completely destroyed,' said Filashkin.
Local authorities continue to evacuate the population from dangerous areas, paying special attention to children. However, some residents refuse to leave their homes despite the threat to their lives.
