Zelensky and Fumio Kishida Discussed Energy Support for Ukraine.


President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Zelensky awarded Kishida the Order of Yaroslav the Wise I Degree on behalf of the Ukrainian people and expressed gratitude for the support provided to Ukraine.
The President expressed gratitude to Japan for financial and humanitarian assistance amounting to over 12 billion euros, as well as for supporting sanctions against the Russian Federation. Zelensky emphasized the importance of continuing work on blocking all ways of circumventing sanctions used by Russia.
One of the discussed topics was cooperation with partners from the G7 and the EU with the aim of creating a practical mechanism for the frozen Russian assets amounting to 50 billion dollars.
Zelensky also mentioned the current situation in energy. Kishida informed that Japan is preparing a new package of energy assistance, which will include transformers, generators, and other components.
