The UK Ministry of Defence stated that their official position on the use of British weapons by the Ukrainian army has not changed from the previous government, reports The Times.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed that Ukraine has the right to self-defense against illegal attacks by Russia, including operations inside Russia.
"In the process of providing weapons, we clearly state that they must be used in accordance with international law," said a spokesperson for the UK Ministry of Defence.
The Times notes that according to this policy, Ukraine will receive not only tanks but also anti-tank missiles, artillery, armored vehicles, and other equipment for combat on Russian territory.
It is worth noting that former Defence Secretary Ben Wallace allowed the Ukrainian army to target objectives within Russia using weapons received from the UK, except for long-range Storm Shadow missiles.
