15 million UAH for families of fallen soldiers - who else can receive assistance.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted amendments to the law on social and legal protection of servicemen and their families. One of the innovations is the possibility of a one-Time financial aid for the families of soldiers who died in captivity.
People's Deputy Taras Tarasenko noted that this bill is aimed at supporting the families of those who died in captivity, who currently have to prove their right to assistance in court.
What this means for the families of fallen soldiers
According to the amendments to the law, the families of soldiers who died in captivity will receive guaranteed state assistance of at least 15 million hryvnias without discussions regarding the cause of death.
It is also clarified that besides the families of the deceased, servicemen who have been injured during service with subsequent partial loss of working capacity can receive one-time financial assistance.
Who else can receive payments
In addition to families and servicemen, compensation can be received by individuals specified in the serviceman's disposal, or in the absence of such - children, widows, and parents of the deceased.
- Children who have been left without parents.
- Non-working widow or widower.
- Non-working parents of the deceased.
In case one of the recipients refuses assistance, their share is distributed equally among the other family members.
The changes in the law are aimed at simplifying the process of obtaining assistance for families and servicemen who have been affected. The innovations also take into account the minimum subsistence level and clarify the conditions for compensation.
