The Lviv City Council has completed the exhumation at the Hill of Glory

The exhumation work at the Hill of Glory in Lviv has already been completed. The plan to cleanse Lviv of symbols of Soviet occupation has been implemented.

This was reported by the head of the executive committee of the Lviv City Council, Yevhen Boyko, in a comment to Novyny.LIVE.

'This was the last military cemetery of the Soviet period in Lviv. We planned to cleanse the city of the Soviet occupying army, and we did it.'

Currently, the remains from the Hill of Glory will be reburied at the Holoskivskyi Cemetery, where a special memorial sector has already been prepared. Each burial will be carefully planned here.

The mayor of Lviv also announced an initiative to exchange the remains of Soviet fighters for Ukrainian heroes, but no responses or inquiries regarding this have been received yet.

In addition, Soviet burials from the Hill of Glory will be transferred in Lviv. It is known that they will be placed at the Holoskivskyi Cemetery.

After the exhumation at the Hill of Glory in Lviv is completed, active processes are now underway to relocate the remains and create memorial sectors. The city mayor is also considering the possibility of exchanging Soviet fighters for Ukrainian heroes; however, similar proposals have not been received so far.
