The European Union plans to extend temporary protection for Ukrainians in the EU until 2027 to provide them with the necessary legal certainty. Ukrainians who already have jobs or family connections will also be offered other forms of legal residence, including obtaining permanent residency.
Priority is given to the return of Ukrainians to their homeland
The European Union places priority on the return of Ukrainians to their homeland. Member states are urged to prepare for the phased return and reintegration of Ukrainians in Ukraine.
