Russia struck Kherson for the second Time in a day, destroying the building of the regional administration. This was reported by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his address on June 5, at the end of the 1198th day of the war.

According to Zelensky, this attack by the Russians on the building is not the first, but today’s strike was particularly symbolic and had no military meaning. The president emphasized that this indicates the sick mindset of the Russian side characterized by 'war, hatred, and a desire to destroy the lives of other nations.'

Activity in Washington

In the meantime, the Ukrainian delegation is holding meetings in Washington. According to Zelensky, representatives of the government, military, and the Office of the President were negotiating with Congress, representatives of the U.S. administration, journalists, and civil organizations. The president expressed gratitude for the support and noted that there is an understanding from the American side.

Zelensky stressed the importance of 'strong steps,' including new and sufficient sanctions from the U.S., as well as coherent political pressure for effective diplomacy. He also noted that Ukraine appreciates the additional funds for recovery received in France and is ready to cooperate with the 'G7' countries.

After the second strike by Russia on Kherson, the building of the regional administration was destroyed, which once again highlighted the escalation of the situation in eastern Ukraine. At the same time, the Ukrainian delegation is actively establishing ties in Washington, hoping for support and new sanctions from the United States.

The report of the second strike on Kherson indicates further escalation of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Meanwhile, the active meetings of the Ukrainian delegation in Washington signal the intention to garner international support and sanctions against Russia to address the situation.
