Almost like in Barcelona: Turks concerned about the problem at a popular resort.

Excessive tourism threatens Antalya
Experts in Turkey warn of the danger of excessive tourism spreading to the resort of Antalya. According to experts, this could lead to development problems, traffic jams, and rising prices. Despite this, it is estimated that 13.5 million tourists have already visited Antalya.
Problems with excessive tourism
Expert Barış Seyhan cites examples of other cities, such as Barcelona and Dubrovnik, facing problems related to excessive tourism. They have issues with water supply and noise pollution. Additionally, rental prices for real estate have increased, making life more expensive.
Crime can also increase as a result of the resort's popularity. This problem particularly affects its guests and tourism sector workers, who find themselves in massive crowds and working more intensely without corresponding salary increases.
Infrastructure limitations and the development of better plans
Experts believe that Antalya's infrastructure has reached its maximum capacity, and the city has no plans to handle the transportation of millions of tourists. Even with an increase in airport capacity, the roads around it remain the same, leading to long travel times for tourists. Experts are calling for a reduction in the load on the resort and the development of sustainable plans.
The escape of Turks to Egypt
Due to problems with excessive tourism in their own country, tourists from Turkey are increasingly choosing Egypt as an alternative. The number of tourists from Turkey visiting Egypt has tripled. It is expected that 250,000 tourists will go there this year.
