Pensions for loss of breadwinner — who has the right in 2025.

Ukrainian citizens can receive a pension for the loss of a breadwinner for those missing during the war. This right can be utilized by the relatives of such persons.

According to information from the Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU), the relatives of citizens who went missing during martial law are entitled to a pension in accordance with Law No. 1058 'On Mandatory State Pension Insurance'. This right can be exercised one month after learning about the missing person.

Who receives a pension for the loss of a breadwinner

Minors, children aged 18-23 who are studying, orphans, as well as husbands, wives, parents, and other relatives of missing persons can receive a pension for the loss of a breadwinner.

• A pension can be obtained by applying to any PFU Service Center in person or through the PFU e-services portal.

Conditions for receiving a pension

Pension payments are made for the entire period during which the person is considered missing. Payments will cease if there are no data on the establishment of the location or burial of the missing person.

It should also be noted that pensioners receive various additional payments, and persons with disabilities of the first group are entitled to social assistance amounting to 2361 UAH (one living wage).
