Polish farmers announced blocking of the checkpoint on the border with Ukraine.


On October 8, Polish farmers are preparing to block the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint. This was reported by the State Customs Service of Ukraine.
The Polish side reported that local farmers announced a possible protest action in the form of blocking the movement of cargo vehicles in front of the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint from October 8 to December 31, 2024.
As of now, the registration of vehicles is carried out in the usual mode.
In case of a strike or change in the situation, additional information will be provided.
As a reminder, the State Border Guard Service reported that there could be delays in crossing the border at the Medyka-Shehyni checkpoint for two months. This is due to repair work on the Polish side. As reported by the border guards, the Polish side at the Medyka crossing point has started work on restoring the paint coating of the metal structure of one of the canopies. According to preliminary data, the works will last until November 12, 2024.
As noted by the press service of the department, the works may cause traffic complications and longer waiting times in the direction of movement for passenger vehicles.
