Speaker of the House Mike Johnson Reveals Position on Tough Sanctions Against Russia.

The Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, expressed support for a bill aimed at strengthening sanctions against Russia, which has been developed in the Senate. 'Many members of Congress want us to impose the toughest sanctions against Russia. And I support this,' Johnson told reporters on Monday.
'The bill will place Russia on a trade island,' Graham wrote in an article for The Wall Street Journal. According to him, the consequences of the barbaric invasion must become real for those who support the Putin regime.
The authors of the bill are Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal. The document proposes the introduction of primary and secondary sanctions against the Russian Federation, including 500 percent tariffs on countries that purchase Russian oil and other energy products. The bill has received broad support in the Senate and may be considered during the current working period. Senate Majority Leader John Thune reported that negotiations are underway with the White House on this issue, and everything is being done to ensure coordinated action.
Senators Lindsey Graham and Richard Blumenthal introduced a bill to strengthen sanctions against Russia, which has received support in Congress and could impose new severe restrictions on the Russian economy.
